What’s the difference between OnBidder and the eBay proxy bidding tool?
When you place a bid with eBay, you decide on the maximum you would pay for an item and eBay's proxy bidding system will bid on your behalf. However, eBay’s bidding system reviews the auction at specific time intervals.

In other words, eBay only looks at the status of an auction every 5 minutes and does not change this interval as the auction comes to a close.
